Today’s agriculture is greatly challenged to keep pace with the human demand which should be met in an environmentally and sustainable way. To meet this challenge, wheat yield should increase at a faster rate than it is. In addition, with changing climates, crops are growing in warmer environments with more heat waves, increased variability in rainfall, and elevated atmospheric CO2. Food security then requires urgent investment to develop high‐yielding crops that are climate‐resilient. The aim of the project is to address the interactions between plant environment and genetics to increase yield of wheat in variable environments in the face of climate change.
